What is a BMC-91 filing
The insurer's certificate of liability coverage behind every active property authority.
What the public record shows
- BMC-91 (single insurer) and BMC-91X (multiple insurers or layered coverage) certify public liability coverage to FMCSA.
- The filing shows in L&I with the insurer name, policy number, effective date and coverage amount; its effective date is what CarrierDaily's filing trend reports count.
- Replacing an insurer produces a new filing and a cancellation of the old one; both appear in the event history.
