What is the MCS-150 biennial update
The census filing behind power units, drivers, cargo and contact fields.
What the public record shows
- Every USDOT registrant must update the MCS-150 at least every two years, on a schedule set by the last digits of the USDOT number.
- The filing carries the contact phone, email and addresses, officer names, power units, drivers, mileage and cargo classifications CarrierDaily's census-based pages use.
- A lapsed update can deactivate the USDOT number.

Questions
Why do contact changes matter for vetting?
Because the MCS-150 contact fields are what a load board or email identity check compares against; a change dated after a grant is a verification cue.
