Insurance cancellations (BMC-35)

How a cancellation notice works, the 30-day effective window, and the live national and state counts.

An insurer cancels an FMCSA filing on form BMC-35; the cancellation takes effect 30 days after FMCSA receives it. Until then the carrier is covered but on notice. A replacement filing cancels the pending cancellation; without one FMCSA starts revocation.

Last 30 days: 865 DOT records with a liability, cargo or bond cancellation filed; 1,554 with a new filing (2026-10-25T17:58:34+00:00). Every state hub shows its own counts.
